The Lion's Tooth

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

Welcome to Our Blog! After over one year in the making, we are so excited to soon launch our 12 month program that you can join at any time - The Lion's Tooth.

In this blog post, let me introduce myself....

by Evelyn Mueller, founder of The Lion's Tooth

The Idea for the program was sparked from my innate passion for nature and my desire to be self sufficient. I have always had a love for the simple things in life, working and creating with nature’s gifts, feeling connected to our natural world, my love for wild plants, wildcrafting, gardening, preparing meals from scratch and living with the seasons to prepare and preserve what nature has gifted us.

In combination with my studies for clinical herbalism and my degree in childhood and youth education, I soon learned that my biggest desire is to share and teach young and old about natures fabulous and abundant offerings- season, after season, after season....

This is a photo of my family and me - we love going for bike rides, big and small...

But let's back a bit, and I'll share a few words about me

Before moving to Canada in 2008, I was born and raised in a quaint small town surrounded by Nature in Bavaria, southern Germany. In 2007, I graduated with a degree in childcare and youth education from the Academy for Social Pedagogy in my German home town and have experience working with kids and youth with and without disabilities. Love has brought me to beautiful rural Ontario, where I now live on a farm with my husband and our four adventurous and outdoor loving boys.

I love making things from scratch – Harvesting fresh Elderflowers to make Lemonade brings me joy and happiness, all while teaching my kids on how to some day, make their own. I am passionate about baking bread, with a love for European Artisan bread. My four boys keep me quite entertained and busy. There is no such a thing as a 'dull moment' in our house. My husband is a farmer, and often times, he needs a hand... this is where I usually come into play. I also love being part of our small town community. There is something really special about connecting to the people in my town and being involved in our organizations - it gives me the wonderful feeling of being home, and belonging...

As a community herbalist mentored by and collaborating with Herbalist Penelope Beaudrow, I provide herbal education through workshops and herb walks and supports Herbalist Rosemary Gladstar as a teaching assistant. Always eager to learn, I am currently a clinical herbalist student with herbalist Abrah Arneson.

Stay tuned! In our next blog post, meet Esther, my wonderful sister-in-law and co-founder of The Lion's Tooth
